In December 2025, we visited another of those hidden and unknown treasures. Even if you were brought up within a stone's throw of the heritage centre, you are probably not aware of two semis which house a wide range of memorabilia of two world wars and the role of RAF Hornchurch in protecting the Thames estuary from Zeppelins and German bombers.

Each room was filled with exhibits all supported by comprehensive descriptions and, with the help of our guides, we learnt how many famous people had visited or served on the aerodrome.
