They are also expected to treat each other with dignity and respect.
Specifically:
- Members are expected to know, follow and promote the Principles of the u3a Movement at every opportunity.
- Members must always act in the best interests of Warley u3a and the u3a Movement, strive to uphold its reputation and never do anything which could bring their own, another u3a or the u3a Movement into disrepute or expose it to undue risk.
- Members are expected to use Warley u3a’s resources responsibly and only to further its stated charitable objects/purposes.
- Members are expected to reflect the current organisational policy of Warley u3a, regardless of whether it conflicts with their personal views.
- Members are expected to abide by Warley u3a’s procedures and practices.
Interest Group Dislaimer
- Warley u3a has members who draw upon their knowledge and experience to teach and learn from each other but there are no qualifications to pass - it is just for pleasure. Learning is its own reward.
- Activities organised by u3a Groups automatically have Public Liability Insurance cover, providing the convenors are u3a members, through the Third Age Trust. This is designed to protect participants against claims for damage to property and for injury or death which might have been occasioned during the activity.
- This is NOT a personal accident insurance and participants in activities are responsible for their own Health and Safety including the wearing of appropriate clothing and footwear and the safe keeping of their equipment, clothing and belongings.
- Participants should follow the advice and instructions of the convenor in order to minimise any risk to themselves and other members.
- Walking, other physical activities and visits to places of interest should be enjoyable and healthy. For the majority of people, they should not pose any problem or hazard but participants must inform the convenor of any health or other condition they feel it would be sensible for the convenor to know about.
- All participants should read the Risk Assessment for the activity (available from the group convenor) and undertake their personal risk assessment.
