It didn’t rain!

Despite having forgotten to place the order for good weather, we enjoyed warm sunshine for our annual garden party, there were over 60 members in attendence many of whom enjoyed sitting outside in the dappled shade.

The challenge was to talk to new people and it was really pleasing to see how many people were doing so. Hopefully, at the monthly meetings, you will be able to catch up with your new friends.

You were all very generous in buying raffle tickets and we raised over £200 for the air ambulance, our charity of the year. Those who attended the visit to North Weald will know how important this charity is – we never know when we might need their services.

A lovely spread of sandwiches and homemade cakes was enjoyed by all – thank you to those who made the cakes, scones and whirls. And of course, it was all washed down with tea, coffee or a cold drink – thank you to the kitchen team.

With some activities including quizzes to work on with your friends, it was a lovely atmosphere with the sound of happy chatter. Thank you all for coming to our annual garden party.
