Classic Car Collection

July 2026

Not far from Brentwood is a private car collection featuring a unique 1896 French car - the only one in the world through to Rolls Royces. There is a Delage racing car, an early electric car, Model T Fords, one that has driven across Australia and quite a few De Dion Boutons which are the mainstay of the collection. The early cars <1905 are eligible for the annual London to Brighton run. There are also motor tricycles from around ~1900 which they race from time to time and some older motorcycles. Add to that shelves stacked with motor car related items and we should be occupied in the four buildings for some time!

On a lovely sunny day, slightly cooler than the heat wave had been, we visited Bernard's collection and had a great tour of the garages to see the fantastic vehicles, all of which are operational and most had been out in the lcoal area only a few days before.

After our lunch we had a ride on the miniature railway to explore the grounds and the interesting collection of sculptures.
