August 2026
On a bright sunny day we visited the Mangapps Museum which has about a mile of railway track which was never part of a branch line and was created on farmland. Inside the museum is a wide range of railway vehicles and memorabilia covering all aspects of railways.
In the workshop is probably the biggest collection of 03 shunters in the country, many of which are still operational. We enjoyed learning about the engines inside them and some of their history. Most of the variety of coaches, mainline and underground, are accessible and the insides have even more old posters and items to look at.
